what do a trainer search for in a player?

What coaches want to see in a varsity esports player is a lot. Coaches of course want you to perform when you play tournaments, that you are as good as possible at your game and that you have good communication skills. The most important thing a coach looks for in you as a player is that you are a good teammate, have a good attitude and that you behave in school. If you have a negative and bad attitude, you will not get far in your career in college and this is something that especially American college coaches focus on and have a solid grasp of. If you have a good and positive attitude and clearly show that you are a good teammate, that you can be a leader and that you have good communication skills, college coaches will be very impressed and your chances will increase drastically.

In order to stand out from the crowd who also want to go to college and play esports, it is important to show college coach videos when you play. Shows how you communicate when playing and how you want the match to play out. This is something we will help you with so that you can maximize your chances of impressing the coaches.

How much is a esports scholarship?

Scholarships are awarded school by school, which means that the amount of scholarship the schools can award depends on which school it is, with that said, the esports scholarship usually ranges between 10,000 sek to 100,000 sek per year. However, more and more schools have now started to award “full-ride scholarships”, which is a scholarship on the entire college costs, from the esports costs to the tuition costs.

Harrisburg University, which won ESPN’s inaugural College Esports tournament in May 2019, became the first school to award full-ride scholarships to their entire 16-man team in 2018.

college esports clubs

Just like other sports in college (football, basketball, etc…) there is a varsity level and also a club level. The varsity level is the players who are the best at the university who then represent the school against other schools in competitions. Since a relatively high level is required to get to this varsity level, there are also college clubs for those who either do not feel that they are at the right level, or that you feel that you do not want to play at such a serious level. In esports clubs, they focus more on including everyone who wants to join and helping less skilled players gain more experience.

Esports clubs have different teams and all these teams also compete in tournaments, they also compete in other college esports leagues, and they have different competitions for those who go to school so the school teams compete against each other. In addition to those, the club also arranges community evenings for each individual match.

Many club members also move up to the varsity level when they have gained the skill and experience that you get from playing in a club team, you can also see esports clubs as a kind of Junior Varsity team.
